After Vacation Bible School on Friday, I headed to Tuscaloosa for a weekend with some of my pledge sisters. Driving into Tuscaloosa, this was the first sign I saw.
This used to be Hobby Lobby. It was strange driving down McFarland. It was fine until you got to a certain point, then it was devastation.
It doesn't get any better than waking up across the street from the stadium, especially on a game day!
Our first stop was Nicks Filet House aka Nicks in the Sticks for a Nicodemus. The wait was so long and it was already almost 8 so we had a drink and headed to Pepitos instead. Just as yummy as it was 9 years ago!
Becky, me and Brittney. After dinner we headed to Innesfree and Gallettes. Let's just say, things aren't quite the same. We still feel so young but when you get around all those college kids, you quickly feel OLD! They were looking at us like we were from another planet.
After a late night of catching up, we headed to one of my favorite places, Buffalo Phils. We were there at 10:45 and they made us wait until 11. Nine years ago we wouldn't even have been thinking about getting up that early! Best thing was $3 pitchers. No kids so why not at 11am?!? I felt like such a rebel.
This used to be part of the library. Thankfully no children were in school that day because that was where Margaret's class would have been during the storm!
We ended our tour of devastation by checking on an old favorite. Let's just say, I cannot believe I ever went there. The neighborhood was so scary and it looked very different in the daylight! Not quite how I remembered it at all! But there sure were some good memories listening to Wayne Mills there!
It was so yummy and we had a great time catching up with old friends that joined us just for the night.
